My Masters Project focuses on the development of an innovative learning platform in Virtual Reality (VR) to revolutionize the introduction of programming courses at an intermediate level. This pioneering platform is meticulously designed to offer a profoundly immersive and intuitive learning experience, serving as a central hub for interactive courseware, especially crucial in our post-COVID world where distance learning has become paramount.
Leveraging the immersive capabilities of Virtual Reality, our application employs scripted animations, tutorials, and interactive games to elucidate specific topics in Computer Science. Through a pilot study, we conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the user experience and learning outcomes. Remarkably, participants of this study reported heightened engagement and motivation in learning programming concepts.
Our findings revealed that the virtual learning modules played a pivotal role in elucidating abstract concepts, offering participants better hands-on experiences. By seamlessly integrating VR technology with educational content, our platform aims to redefine the learning landscape, empowering learners to grasp complex concepts with greater ease and efficiency.
